Sports in the limelight
Wednesday 26 November 2008
The European Commission is organising the first-ever EU Sport Forum in Biarritz, on 26 and 27 November. Key stakeholders will discuss the implementation of the 2007 white paper on sport, the financing of grassroots sports and the specificity of sports. The forum will take place in connection with the informal meeting of EU sports ministers under the French EU Presidency, on 27 and 28 November, who will discuss certain points on the EU’s permanent sports agenda concerning health and physical activity, doping, dual careers, sports’ economic impact and financing. The Presidency also wishes to achieve progress in the debate on club management control, sport agents and nationality questions in sports.
