A new strategy for sport devised by the European Commission is the focus of the European Sport Forum, which brings together representatives of national, European and international sporting organisations for a meeting in Budapest, Hungary, on February 21-22. The Commissioner responsible for sport, Androulla Vassiliou, presents her plans at the forum. The Commission’s new strategy will also be at the heart of discussions by national sports ministers at an informal Council meeting, on February 23 in Gödöllö. The Commission’s plans, presented on 18 January, aim to reinforce the social, economic and organisational dimensions of sport (see Europolitics4122).
