Sport et Citoyenneté, which presents itself as the first European think tank in the field of sport, based in France and Belgium, has published a special edition of its journal, entitled ‘2010 FIFA World Cup?: Africa’s hour?’. This is dedicated to the impact of organising this competition on the African continent, the social responsibility of sports federations, the influence of world football on world geopolitics, citizenship activity linked to the event, the veracity of criticism aimed at FIFA and other important social issues.
