Spanish aid for literature cleared
Tuesday 08 May 2012
The European Commission authorised, on 8 May, a Spanish state aid scheme of up to €10.95 million to finance the publication of culturally valuable books in Spain over the next three years. The executive found that the measure pursues an objective of common interest, namely the promotion of cultural heritage, and that it is well designed to achieve this objective and minimises potential distortions of competition. Both paper and electronic publications are eligible for support. Funds will be granted on the basis of an open and public selection procedure, ensuring that the available budget is distributed according to the cultural significance of the submitted projects.
