Wednesday 23 June 2010
On 23 June, Internal Market and Services Commissioner Michel Barnier and members of the European Parliament awarded prizes to the winners of the ‘REAL Fake’ competition for schools. The competition gave youth across Europe the chance to produce posters, short videos, games, cartoons and other educational material that highlight the implications of counterfeiting and piracy. Alternatively, participants could design a winning logo for the European Observatory on Counterfeiting and Piracy. The competition was carried out in the EU between March and June and was aimed at students between ten and 15 years old. First prize in the first category for best logo/poster for the European observatory went to the First High School of Triandria in Greece, while the first prize in the second category for best video went to Vörösmarty Mihály Általános Iskola és Alapfokú Muvészetoktatási Intézmény in Hungary.
