EIB co-financing for digital cinema

XDC, the leading digital cinema company in Europe, has started to use a loan facility of €100 million to finance the launch of digital cinema in Europe. The group has fulfilled all the conditions in order to proceed to the first draw down of this structured loan facility of €50 million granted by BNP Paribas Fortis with the participation of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and KBC Bank, effective 21 May 2010, indicated the EIB, on 25 May. The first tranche will be used in first instance for the roll-out of digital systems with Belgian exhibitors. Several other utilisations are already planned in the next weeks for digital installations in other countries, such as Germany, Spain, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This loan is the first important project financing deal in the European digital cinema industry.
