The European Commission issued, on 9 June, a communication presenting ways of giving fresh impetus to vocational education and training. This type of training is chosen by around 50% of all students in upper secondary education. To make it an attractive and high-quality option, the Commission wants to modernise vocational training. The options it suggests should be reviewed and adopted by the competent European ministers during the second half of this year (details in an upcoming issue).
