Croatia joins European Committee for Standardisation
Friday 27 November 2009
The Croatian Standards Institute (HZN) will, from 1 January 2010, become a full member of the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN). Alongside Croatia, national standards bodies from Libya, Belarus and Azerbaijan were given affiliate status in CEN (also to start from 1 January). The decisions were taken at an extraordinary general assembly of the CEN, on 25 November. The CEN will now have 31 members composed of the 27 EU member states, three EFTA countries (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and Croatia. There are 19 CEN affiliates.
