Christian Pèes/Cogeca

On 29 November, Cogeca, the EU Agricultural Cooperatives Confederation, unanimously elected Christian Pèes (France) as the organisation’s new president for 2013-2015. Pèes runs a cereal and pig farm in South-West France. He also heads Euralis, a leading French grain cooperative. Cogeca also elected the following as Vice-Presidents: Manfred Nüssel, head of the German agri-cooperatives organisation DRV, Thomas Magnusson, vice-president of the Swedish farmers’ federation LRF, Antónia Figueiredo, deputy head of CONFAGRI, the Portuguese agri-cooperatives confederation, and Martin Pýcha, head of the Czech Republic agricultural association. www.copa-cogeca.eu
