Air transport infringements
Monday 23 November 2009
The European Commission decided, on 20 November, to send reasoned opinions to four member states (Luxembourg, Greece, the Czech Republic and Finland) that have failed to notify, or have only partially notified, their measures for the transposition into national law of Directive 2006/23/EC on a Community air traffic controller licence. This directive establishes the principle of mutual recognition of controllers’ licences and should have been applied by 17 May 2008. The reasoned opinions constitute the last stage in an infringement procedure before it is passed over to the Court of Justice.
