At its meeting in late June, in Doha, Qatar, the World Water Council elected MEP Sophie Auconie (EPP, France), who heads the Cercle Français de l’Eau, to its Board of Governors. The World Water Council is a multilateral platform set up in 1996 on the initiative of international organisations and water sector specialists from across the planet to address water issues, a source of increasing concern to the international community.
