The EU Council appointed, on 24 January, the following seven members of the Court of Auditors for a term of six years, as from 1 March: Kevin Cardiff (Ireland), Vítor Manuel da Silva Caldeira (Portugal), Ville Itala (Finland), Henrik Otbo (Denmark), Karel Pinxten (Belgium), Pietro Russo (Italy) and H.G. Wessberg (Sweden). The court has one member from each EU country appointed by the Council .
