Even during the holiday season, the EU remains present for European citizens. It is precisely to defend this message that the EU executive has issued a reminder of a series of directives and/or advantages from which Europeans may benefit while abroad. These range from the health card to the European Consumer Centre, which will help European holiday makers settle any disputes that may occur during their holidays.
And, like any good teacher who sees his pupils leave at the end of the school year, the Commission recalls basic rules: “protect yourselves from the sun (choose sunscreen products with ultraviolet protection);” “do not bring back any meat or dairy products, whether these are for yourself or as a gift for others” - unless from one of the 27 member states or Andorra, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino or Switzerland, that is. “If you want to go on holiday with your pet, this is not a problem provided that your pet has been vaccinated for rabies and that you have his vaccination card. However, for the entry of pets into Ireland, Sweden, Malta or the United Kingdom, additional testing is required to verify that the vaccine has been effective”.
