The European Commission announced, on 13 July, the names of new heads of representations for offices in the Czech Republic, Ireland, Greece, France, Lithuania, Poland and the UK. They are: Jan Michal as head of representation in Prague, who will start on 1 September 2010. Michal is an adviser in the Commission’s Secretariat-General; Barbara Nolan as head of representation in Dublin, who will start on 1 October 2010. Nolan is head of unit in the Education and Culture DG; Panayotis Carvounis as head of representation in Athens, who will start on 1 November 2010. Carvounis is deputy director-general in DG Communication; Anne Houtman as head of representation in Paris, who will start on 1 September 2010. Houtman is a director at the Energy DG; Natalija Kazlauskiene as head of representation in Vilnius, who will start on 1 September 2010. Kazlauskienė is a director at the Regional Policy DG; Ewa Synowiec as head of representation in Warsaw, who will start on 1 October 2010. Synowiec is a director at DG Trade; and Jonathan Scheele as head of representation in London, who will start on 1 August 2010. Scheele is a director at the Mobility and Transport Directorate-General.
