On 26 July the Council of the European Union decided to extend the term of office of the Europol deputy director, Eugenio Orlandi, by four years until 31 July 2015 after the Europol Management Board unanimous expressed its desire to extend his term of office. Orlandi, who is in charge of Capabilities, was first appointed for a four-year period from 1 August 2007 to 31 July 2011. This will be his last term of office since it can be renewed only once. There are two other deputy directors at Europol in charge of Operations and Governance.
