The EU Council appointed, on 10 July, Dr Zsuzsa Breier (state secretary for European affairs - Germany) as a member of the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR) for the remainder of the current term of office, which runs until 25 January 2015. It also appointed new Bulgarian members of the committee: Ahmed Ahmedov (mayor, Municipality of Tsar Kaloyan), Tanya Heistova (mayor, Municipality of Gabrovo), Krassimir Kostov (mayor, Municipality of Shumen), Madzhid Mandadzha (mayor, Municipality of Stambolovo), Zhivko Todorov (mayor, Municipality of Stara Zagoraan) and Luydmil Vesselinov (mayor, Municipality of Popovo).
