Friday 13 July 2012

The Ecofin Council recommended, on 10 July, the nomination of Yves Mersch (Luxembourg) to the Executive Board of the European Central Bank for a term of eight years. If appointed, Mersch will succeed José Manuel González-Páramo, whose term of office ended on 31 May. The Council’s recommendation will be submitted to the European Council for a decision, after consulting the European Parliament and the ECB’s Governing Council.
