The European Federation for Retirement Provision (EFRP), which represents the various national associations of pension funds and similar institutions for supplementary/occupational pension provision, announced, on 26 August, the appointment of Matti Leppälä to succeed Chris Verhaegen as secretary-general. Leppälä will take up his new post in December 2011. He is director international, investment and legal affairs at the Finnish Pension Alliance TELA and is also involved with the European Association of Paritarian Institutions (AEIP) and in the OECD Private Pensions Working Group. www.efrp.eu
