The Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA) announced, on 16 May, the appointment of Lola Una Cárdenas as its chief representative in the European Union, based in Brussels. A Spanish national, Cárdenas will boost UNICA’s European public affairs operation in Brussels and help drive forward the interests of the Brazilian sugarcane industry. She previously worked as EU affairs director at ECG, the Association of European Vehicle Logistics, as project manager at the European Regeneration Areas Network and as an account director at Scania EU Affairs/Kreab & Gavin Anderson, where she handled a portfolio of transport and environmental clients. english.unica.com.br
