At the high-level summit on corporate social responsibility (CSR), on 23 June, Industry and Enterprise Commissioner Antonio Tajani announced that a European Commission task force on CSR in the pharmaceutical sector would be put in place. The body will work on improving access to medicines for the developing countries, particularly in Africa and Latin America. CSR refers to the voluntary inclusion of social and environmental concerns in corporate business activities and relations with stakeholders.
