In our 23 June edition (4227), Fertilizers Europe was mistakenly placed at the top of a list of under-reporting interest representatives in the European Commission’s lobby register by ALTER-EU (Alliance for Lobbying Transparency and Ethics Regulation), due to a technical issue. Fertilizers Europe was reported as having declared to have spent only €400 in 2010 on lobbying when, in fact, the sum declared for that year was €400,000. The discrepancy is due to an encoding issue, according to the Secretariat-General of the Commission. The declared sum was coded in as ‘400.000’. The dot was therefore encoded as a decimal. The information was updated on 23 June.
