The European Commission authorised, on 1 September, the acquisition of the French firm Inergy Automotive Systems by Plastic Omnium (also of France), which becomes sole owner of this firm initially controlled jointly with Belgium’s Solvay. Plastic Omnium manufactures plastic automotive equipment and provides environmental products and services (waste containers, urban and road signposting, urban fittings). Inergy Automotive Systems supplies automotive fuel systems to vehicle manufacturers. The transaction was reviewed under the simplified procedure.
