The European Commission granted clearance, on 27 October, to the acquisition of sole control of BVT Surface Fleet Limited of the UK by BAE Systems plc, also of the UK. BAE Systems provides systems and services for air, land and naval forces as well as advanced electronics, information technology solutions and customer support services. BVT provides surface warships and through-life support, principally as a partner for the UK Ministry of Defence.
