The EU Council appointed, on 16 July, Piero Lacorazza (president of the province of Potenza, Italy), Piero Fassino (mayor of the city of Turin, Italy), Mauro D’Attis (councillor of the municipality of Brindisi, iItaly), Jasna Gabric (deputy mayor of the municipality of Trbovlje, Slovenia) and Javier Fernandez (president of the principality of Asturias, Spain) as members of the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR) for the remainder of the current term of office, which runs until 25 January 2015.
